With the 54th installment of the Super Bowl about to come and go, NFL fans will soon begin looking ahead to late April. With the 2020 NFL Draft slated to begin on Thursday, April 23rd, teams from around the league will be looking to improve by adding a slew of rookie talent — starting with the always exciting first round, which should be packed with nearly unlimited talent this time around.
However, with some teams more than likely to trade up in the first round, there will also be teams that will be looking to trade down come April. Although these things are nearly impossible to predict this far out, it is never too early to make some bold predictions!
As it stands today, the Carolina Panthers are slated to pick at No. 7 in the first round with the New York Jets coming in at No. 11, the Miami Dolphins at No. 18 and the Tennessee Titans at No. 29. With that being said, none of these four three teams should remain in their respective positions. Instead, the Panthers, Jets, Dolphins, and Titans should all trade down en route to moving back in the first round on April 23rd.
If the Carolina Panthers will be moving forward with veteran quarterback and former NFL MVP Cam Newton, the struggling NFC South franchise should absolutely trade down in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, if the team is seeking a rookie quarterback early on come April, then the Panthers may not be as poised to drop back.
